Your land can feed you and water itself.

We build the earthworks systems that make it happen.

Water Security

Capture rain, build ponds, recharge aquifers — keep water on your land year-round.

Food Production

Shape the ground for greenhouses, food forests, and market gardens that actually produce.

Land Restoration

Repair drainage, stabilize slopes, and bring degraded land back into productive use.

Capture. Store. Recharge.

Every property on Vancouver Island has water moving through it. We design systems that slow it down, store it, and put it to work — so your land stays hydrated through the driest months.

Grow more. Depend less.

Passive solar greenhouses, food forest earthworks, climate batteries, and soil systems that hold water and grow food year-round.

Good food production starts with good ground. We handle the heavy earthworks — grading, clearing, drainage — so your growing systems sit on a solid foundation.

The foundation work.

Before any water system or greenhouse goes in, the ground needs to be right. We handle the heavy work — clearing, grading, drainage — so everything built on top performs as designed.

How We Work

1

Understand the ground

We walk your property, read the soil, the water flow, the slope — and listen to what you want from the land.

2

Design what fits

No cookie-cutter plans. Every system is sized and placed for your specific terrain, budget, and goals.

3

Build it right

Excavation, grading, drainage, plumbing — done properly the first time with the right equipment.

4

Tie systems together

Water feeds food, overflow feeds ponds, ponds feed soil. Everything connects into one working landscape.

10 years of earthworks. Campbell River to Quadra Island.

I'm Reid. I've spent the last ten years running machines, reading land, and building water and food systems across the North Island. From pond builds in the Comox Valley to rainwater setups on Quadra, the work is always the same at its core: help people get more from their land without fighting it.

Swell Land & Water isn't a franchise or a big crew — it's focused, experienced, hands-on work. I show up, I figure out what your land needs, and I build it.
